What an evening, internet hosting and producing Patricia Area’s eightieth birthday! And did I point out it was a shock? (No stress).

The celebration happened on the Decrease East Aspect Speakeasy Area, Fig 19, the place we took over the gallery house and cocktail bar.

It was an unimaginable night full of an iconic style scene, from Fern Mallis, Kelly Cutrone, Miss J,  The Blonds, Orfeh, Robert Verdi, Daphne Rubin-Vega, and Anthony Haden-Visitor, to Leah McSweeney, amongst many others, who stepped out to SURPRISE the legendary costume designer.

There’s no denying Patricia Area’s contribution to the style business, the Emmy award-winning, Oscar-nominated, Costume Designer behind Intercourse and the Metropolis, Satan Wears Prada, Emily in Paris, Ugly Betty, and numerous extra, she has modified the business without end and at 80 years outdated is actively nonetheless working and at present wrapping season 2 of Run the World.

Whereas her birthday was on February twelfth, between the climate, style week, and her work schedule and pandemic restraints her crew and I needed to attend and plan a shock celebration. With 80 being such an unimaginable milestone and with so many eager to have a good time her spring appeared like the proper timing. And we pulled it off…

Held on the legendary LES’ chandelier-lit cocktail bar Fig 19 and hosted on my own, Fairly Linked’s, Lara Eurdolian, and her documentary crew, visitors loved specialty cocktails from Curamia Tequila, Kastra Elion Greek Vodka, blended with Q Mixers, Le Coqtail, Bev,  and Bronx Brewery.

Customized pizza pies by Williamsburg Pizza spelled “Pleased eightieth” and “Pat Area” whereas Moet crystalized personalised bottles in honor of the birthday queen.

Broadway legend, Orfeh led the celebration in singing comfortable birthday, adopted by a particular efficiency by Dai Burger.

The milestone celebration occasion was filmed for an upcoming documentary celebrating Patricia Area and her extraordinary profession, with a 2023 launch date.
